Downtempo Chronicles is a companion blog to Dancefloor Mayhem. Downtempo Chronicles will explore the vast realm of the slower-tempo variations of electronic music.

These genres have many names, but can all be captured under the downtempo umbrella. Some of the genres we will share with you on this blog include: trip-hop, abstract hip-hop, acid jazz, ambient, chillout, jazz fusion, r&b and we'll even sprinkle in some pop. While the music on Dancefloor Mayhem seeks the shaking of your bootimus maximus, Downtempo Chronicles will provide you with the soundtrack for the drive home, the pre-funk, the lounge, the poolside and the office.
